Urgent Care Physician (MD/DO - Independent Contractor)

*Position Overview:*
CityHealth is seeking a skilled and self-directed Urgent Care Physician (MD or DO) to join our team as an Independent Contractor (IC). This role requires strong clinical competence, excellent procedural skills, and the ability to provide clinical leadership and oversight for APCs (PAs/NPs). You will work closely with our front desk, medical assistants, and management to deliver high-quality, efficient, and team-based care.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Diagnose and treat a wide range of urgent care conditions
* Perform urgent care procedures including:
◦ Laceration repair (suturing)
◦ Incision and drainage (I&D)
◦ Splinting and basic orthopedics
◦ Foreign body removal
◦ Basic wound care
* Order and interpret diagnostics (labs, imaging)
* Review and co-sign charts for PAs/NPs as required
* Ensure timely chart completion and documentation in our EMR
* Collaborate with leadership on quality improvement and clinical protocols
* Model and promote a culture of communication, accountability, and efficiency
*Requirements:*
* MD or DO with a valid California medical license and DEA
* Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
* Minimum 2 years of experience in urgent care or emergency medicine
* Strong procedural competency in urgent care skills
* Demonstrated experience supervising APCs or working in team-based care
* Strong communication and EMR documentation skills
* Familiarity with DrChrono and Epic (preferred)
* Must be eligible to work as an Independent Contractor (1099 status)

Pay: $110.00 - $140.00 per hour
