full-time Physician Assistant for our Inpatient Acute Care / Observation Unit

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Excellence

Deliver comprehensive healthcare services including preventive, chronic, and acute care for patients ranging from infant to geriatric populations. Obtain detailed medical histories and perform thorough physical examinations. Diagnose illnesses and develop evidence-based treatment plans, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Perform health risk assessments, screenings, and patient counseling within the Observation Unit. Provide continuity of care through progress notes, patient management plans, and care coordination. Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and health maintenance. Counsel patients on compliance with therapeutic regimens and lifestyle modifications. Provide medical and mental health education to promote long-term wellness. Quality & Safety

Deliver care aligned with current evidence-based guidelines and best practice standards. Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough medical documentation. Participate in quality assurance activities and clinical audits. Engage in continuing education and professional development to remain current with industry advancements. Collaborate with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams in care coordination and clinical meetings. Contribute to a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current or eligible licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois. NCCPA certification. Ability to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced inpatient or acute care environment. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
