We are seeking a
Full-Time Hospitalist
who is clinically excellent, collaborative, and passionate about caring for and educating patients in a community hospital setting. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on patient outcomes while working within a supportive, mission-focused medical staff.
The Hospitalist provides comprehensive inpatient care, leads clinical response teams in emergent situations, and partners with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities Inpatient Clinical Care Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for admitted patients, including adult internal medicine, pediatric, behavioral health, and critical care patients.
Manage assigned and unassigned admissions from medical staff and external referral sources.
Monitor patients throughout hospitalization and ensure timely, safe, and compliant discharge processes.
Clinical Leadership & Emergency Response Serve as clinical team lead for codes, rapid responses, and emergent clinical events.
Promote optimal team performance and adherence to clinical guidelines and best practices.
Quality & Patient Safety Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, QA meetings, and performance improvement projects.
Support development and adherence to evidence-based protocols and clinical pathways.
Contribute to patient satisfaction and safety initiatives.
Communicate regularly with referring physicians, specialists, nursing staff, hospital leadership, patients, and families regarding patient care plans.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to maintain high-quality and efficient patient care operations.
Teaching & Supervision Supervise residents and medical students during patient care activities.
Contribute to an environment of learning and professional development.
Required Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
Board Certified in Family Medicine.
Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
Minimum of one (1) year of hospitalist or inpatient clinical experience preferred.
Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care.
