Electromechanical Maintenance Technician Level I - Nights
Valmont Industries, Inc. is hiring an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician Level I to work nights. Shift:
3rd (Nights) – Monday to Friday, 11PM – 7AM. Location:
2551 Valmont Dr, Brenham, TX 77833-5418. Starting Hourly Pay Rate (LG11):
$27.75 + $1.00 per hour shift differential, with step pay increases at 90 days, 1 year and 2 years. Job Summary:
Assists with highly skilled technical work including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment. Performs new installations, common repairs, follows Arc Flash requirements, and works with a range of plant equipment. Handles troubleshooting, maintenance, and reports safety hazards. Essential Functions
Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Drop power, replace proximity switches, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and install PLC components. Ensure installations meet National Electrical Code, OSHA and Valmont safety standards. Assist in troubleshooting without final diagnosis. AssessPOP equipment condition and restore operation or schedule repairs. Other Important Details
Handle hand tools, volt/ohm/amp meters, welders, forklifts and other lifting equipment. Maintain care to protect gauges, tools and equipment. Show commitment to safety and personal responsibility. Maintain a safe work area and use pre‑use checklists for forklifts and material handling equipment. Follow lockout/tagout procedures. Work with lesser‑skilled technicians, ensuring they operate safely. Assist new co‑workers with tasks. Operate as a team member, not a lead. Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to climb and work at heights up to 80 ft. Work over ten hours a week in overtime as required. At least 1 year of experience maintaining industrial equipment. At least 1 year of experience using industrial lifting equipment, cranes or hoists. At least 1 year of experience using troubleshooting aids: thermography gun, digital VOM, volt/ohm/amp meters. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and National Electrical Code for AC & DC systems. Read and understand hydraulic and pneumatic valves and prints. Pass the written Electromechanical Technician 1 test (score ≥69) and the hands‑on test. Working knowledge of using e‑mail. Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess
Forklift operation experience. Welding and fabricating experience. Self‑starter with minimal supervision. Experience troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Low‑voltage electrical/electronic troubleshooting. Passion, integrity and drive to excel. Degree in Electromechanical Technology. Working Environment and Physical Efforts
The role is primarily indoors with temperature ranges from 100 °F audiencia to 50 °F winter. Exposure to wind, cold, heat, dust, fumes, noise, vibration, water or oil is possible, with sound levels often above 85 dB. Requires hearing protection in certain areas. Safety glasses, gloves and face shield are required in many operations. Most shift is spent on feet; some outdoor work is required. Standing, walking, bending, reaching overhead, and lifting up to 30 lb routinely, with a maximum of 50 lb. Work may involve cramped positions, climbing ladders, pulling wires, hanging fixtures and operating heavy machinery. Benefits
