Position Summary The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will receive and verify all incoming and outgoing ground shipments and unload all shipping and receiving items. They will organize warehouse inventory, distribute it among the Rosenbauer campus, and operate a forklift to complete all Materials department tasks.
Essential Functions
Receives and verifies all incoming and outgoing ground shipments and unloads all shipping and receiving items.
Organizes warehouse inventory and distributes among the Rosenbauer campus.
Operates and maneuvers a forklift to complete all Materials department tasks.
Creates commercial documents for imports and exports.
Verifies all shipments through documentation and inspects deliveries for damages.
Answers phone calls from other departments to maintain strong communication through the shipping and receiving processes.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Forklift certification preferred.
3 years of shipping and receiving experience preferred.
Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Language proficiency in reading technical documents.
Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Basic computer skills: typing, file management, simple formulas.
Prior experience with a computer terminal or PC.

Knowledge of basic inspection tools and machining skills.
Adherence to safety policies.
Reading blueprints/specs.
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
Other Qualifications
Valid driving license and own vehicle required.
Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally.
Local travel required; overnight and prolonged travel may be required.
Physical Demands Weight lifting: 0–10% 0–10 lbs, 1–20% 11–20 lbs, 21–35% 21–35 lbs, 35–50% 35–50 lbs, 51–75% 51–75 lbs, 76–100% 76–100 lbs, 100+% 100+ lbs.

Working Conditions Wet humid conditions, humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, work in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, work with explosive materials, vibration.
