Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is looking for Van Drivers to interact with and provide a necessary service to residents in need of door-to-door transportation services. This position gives you the opportunity to leave a positive footprint in the community while enhancing the lives of our members in need. As a part-time Van Driver, you will be tasked with enhancing the mobility of consumers by providing professional and accessible transportation in a safe, reliable, comfortable, and courteous manner. Work includes independently operating a county vehicle an average of 150 miles each day. This is an opportunity to provide transportation services as well as social contact for our consumers. Excellent communication skills are required, both person to person and via two-way radio. You must have patience and the ability to assist consumers, including senior adults and wheelchair‑dependent consumers along rough payment or unpaved paths. As every day is different, you must be willing to easily adjust your daily work schedule.

Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty
Any equivalent combination of experience and training
Special Requirement:
Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years
Other requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
