Job Description At Regions, the Data Visualization Developer works with teams of data scientists, engineers, and analysts to execute on the design, development, maintenance, and integration of visual analytics and business intelligence (BI) solutions with a focus on translating end-user and data requirements into effective interactive visual analysis and/or visual communication solutions in order to maximize the effectiveness of data-driven decision making.

Primary Responsibilities

Works with other stakeholders to help develop the best approach to supporting the effective analysis and insight generation to achieve a business objective, or to supporting the effective communication of facts, findings and insight to a target audience

Applies best practices of user-centered software product development and data visualization design to creating interactive visual analytics as well as static or dynamic visual communication products for internal BI and banking consumer products

Engages with business stakeholders to understand business needs related to business analytics and reporting, and translates requirements into compelling designs and effective, sustainable applications towards using quantitative and analytical techniques to accelerate profitable growth and customer engagement - unlocking value across all functional areas of the business

Drives the end-to-end conceptualization, design, development, and testing of visual analysis and communication prototypes and products

Creates sketches, wireframes, mock-ups, concept prototypes and pre-production prototypes to requirements to assess, visualize and find consensus on end-user, task, and data affordances with internal stakeholders and development teams

Plans, organizes, and schedules additional customer engagement sessions to ensure accuracy of requirements

Participates in user research, usability validation, and A/B testing

Works closely with other team members including Data Product Partners, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, User Experience Architects, Business Owners, Product Managers, Content Strategists, and Development Teams to implement visual analytics solutions using a variety of BI and visual analytics tools and platforms

Participates as needed in the application of BI solutions to conduct analysis and create insight

Educates team members and business users alike in the effective use and development of visual analytics and communication products and interfaces and support the advancement of visual analytics literacy throughout Regions

Supports the assessment, testing, implementation, adoption and maintenance of tools, technologies, and platforms in support of visual analysis and data visualization development.

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or a related field and four (4) years of demonstrated experience in the development of interactive visual analytics solutions

Or Master's degree in related field and two (2) years of demonstrated development experience

Experience utilizing data visualization and/or BI platforms, tools, and libraries (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, D3) for visual analytics development purposes with proficiency in at least one

Experience using relational databases such as SQL and Oracle

Prior experience using query development, scripting, and programming skills for ETL

Experience in producing, developing, and utilizing business intelligence products, including ability to analyze requests accurately and take effective action

Experience applying and communicating graphic design and data visualization principles and techniques

Experience following brand standards and UX patterns

Experience applying and communicating design-thinking methodology

Experience with applicable design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe XD, Figma)

Preferences

Banking and/or financial services experience

Experience in Agile Software Development

Project management experience

Proven portfolio of examples of relevant, finished interactive visual analysis or communication work and their professional application (portfolios consisting of primarily advertising/student work will not be considered)

Experience with user research relating to usability heuristics, UX methodologies, usability validation, and A/B testing, as well as applying usability research and UX design techniques to the development of customer-centered visual data products

Skills and Competencies

Ability to work independently within a team environment

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Tableau user and license management including reporting

Tableau learning and training coordination

Wealth product maintenance

UAT testing oversight and support

Tableau Cloud risk management and compliance

Tableau Site administration

AI-first approach coordination across DAO, DV and UCD process monitoring, control, and documentation (including AI-first process components once they have been introduced)

Functional testing and UAT monitoring, control, and documentation

Further development, formalization and standardization of all those processes as well as peer review of all product deliverables

Contribute to product development efforts as permissible and assigned to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of work

This position is currently offsite within our 15 state footprint, preferably close to a Regions office and associates will work from their home primarily. They may be expected to go on site for meetings or other events as needed.

Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position at this time. Applicants for this position must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Compensation Details Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$113,920.00 USD
