Overview
Data Visualization Developer at Regions Bank. Collaborates with data scientists, engineers, and analysts to design, develop, maintain, and integrate visual analytics and BI solutions. Focused on translating end-user and data requirements into effective interactive visual analysis and visual communication to maximize data-driven decision making. Primary Responsibilities
Work with stakeholders to develop approaches that support effective analysis, insight generation, and communication of facts and findings to target audiences Apply user-centered software product development and data visualization design practices to create interactive visual analytics and static/dynamic visual communication products for internal BI and banking consumer products Engage with business stakeholders to understand analytics and reporting needs, translate requirements into compelling designs, and build sustainable applications leveraging quantitative and analytical techniques Lead end-to-end conceptualization, design, development, and testing of visual analysis and communication prototypes and products Produce sketches, wireframes, mock-ups, concept prototypes, and pre-production prototypes aligned with end-user, task, and data needs Plan, organize, and schedule additional customer engagement sessions to ensure accuracy of requirements Participate in user research, usability validation, and A/B testing Collaborate with Data Product Partners, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, UX Architects, Product Managers, Content Strategists, and Development Teams to implement visual analytics solutions Assist in applying BI solutions to conduct analysis and generate insights Educate team members and business users on visual analytics and communication products; support regions-wide literacy in visual analytics Support assessment, testing, implementation, adoption and maintenance of tools, technologies, and platforms for visual analysis and data visualization development Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field and four (4) years of demonstrated experience in interactive visual analytics development; or Master’s degree with two (2) years of experience Experience utilizing data visualization/BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, D3) with proficiency in at least one Experience using relational databases (SQL, Oracle) Experience with query development, scripting, and programming for ETL Experience in producing and utilizing BI products; ability to analyze requests and take effective action Experience applying graphic design and data visualization principles, following brand standards and UX patterns Experience applying and communicating design-thinking methodologies Experience with design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe XD, Figma) Preferences
Banking and/or financial services experience Experience in Agile software development Project management experience Proven portfolio of relevant interactive visual analytics or communication work Experience with usability research, UX methodologies, usability validation, and A/B testing Skills and Competencies
Ability to work independently within a team Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tableau administration, training, and governance basics Mobile/AI-ready coordination of DV and UCD processes; documentation and peer-review of product deliverables Contribute to product development efforts to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and quality Location and Type
Position is currently offsite within Regions’ 15-state footprint; remote work from home is primary with on-site meetings as needed. Full-time role. Compensation and Benefits
