Director - Accounting & Finance Recruitment Overview
Oversee accounting, reporting, and operational activities for open ended investment funds with a primary focus on real estate
Partner closely with external administrators, auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
Support timely delivery of investor and regulatory requirements in accordance with fund governing documents
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day fund accounting operations, including NAV oversight, financial reporting, and expense management
Act as the primary liaison with external administrators for cash reconciliations, capital allocations, accruals, expense budgets, and financial statements
Oversee capital calls, distributions, redemptions, and ongoing investor requests
Review quarterly NAV estimates and final valuations
Calculate and review waterfall models and incentive fee calculations
Ensure compliance with fund governing documents and internal firm policies
Oversee quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements for fund partnerships
Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and partner with internal teams on SOX matters
Review quarterly and annual financial and regulatory filings
Collaborate with internal teams including Tax, Portfolio Management, Asset Management, Legal and Compliance, Investor Services, Treasury, and FP&A
Manage, mentor, and develop offshore team members
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance, with CPA strongly preferred
Six or more years of experience in audit, fund accounting, or fund administration
Required experience supporting open ended funds, with real estate exposure preferred
Strong technical knowledge of investment company accounting, fund structures, and performance metrics
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with strong attention to detail and professional integrity
