Position Summary The Mental Health Technician (MHT) for the Child and Adolescent Unit will work five 8‑hour shifts per week, including every other weekend. Various shifts are available: 3‑11:30 pm or 11‑7:30 am. A 2‑week mandatory orientation (8:30 a.m.‑5 p.m.) is required.

Rockford Center is a 138‑bed mental health facility located in Newark neste, DE, providing a full necklace of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. It is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Responsibilities

Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned

Participate in treatment planning

Assist in the admission process

Orient new patients to the unit and their program

Plan and prepare for group therapy sessions

Maintain patient, program, department and related documentation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or similar, or equivalent experience with adults in a behavioral health setting

Strong communication, customer‑service, organization, listening and clinical skills

At least 2 years of related experience, preferably with psychiatric patient care techniques

CPR certification and completion of Handle with Care training during orientation
