St. Pius X Catholic School Southgate is seeking a long term subbing position for math/science in grades 4 and 5 April - June 2025 Responsibilities
Follow lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher Provide instruction to students in mathematics and science Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment Communicate with school staff and parents as needed Complete required paperwork and reports Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field Valid teaching certification or substitute teaching permit Experience working with children Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow lesson plans and manage classroom behavior Qualifications
All teachers in the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit shall be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan. All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach. All teachers who are catechists (teachers of religion) must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools (or willing to obtain such certifications).
