Established law firm is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal. The candidate will work with our busy litigation team and work on multiple matters. Construction Defect experience is required.
Applicant must be able to take direction, be skilled and experienced, organized, capable of performing internet research, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft office, and have great attention to detail.
Paralegal certification from a paralegal program approved by the American Bar Association
3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal in California
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and Acrobat; Coyote; and Westlaw
Advanced organizational skills that support work and case management efforts
Superior grammar, editing and proofing skills
Duties
Summarize and index documents.
Assist with identifying, collecting, analyzing, reviewing and producing electronic and paper documents in response to subpoenas and discovery requests.
Perform document reviews for privilege as well as redaction of confidential information either manually or utilizing eDiscovery software.
Upload/Download documents and create links using OneDrive, DropBox, or similar program.
Work with databases such as Concordance and Relativity.
Assist with trial preparation (trial binders, exhibits, etc.).
Draft discovery and respond to discovery.
Perform legal research and analysis.
Prepare privilege logs.
Check legal cites for proper format, content and standing.
Prepare court filings, draft and issue subpoenas.
Prepare California Public Records Act requests.
