Associate Nurse Manager (RN) - Burn ICU - FT – Parkland Health
Primary Purpose Responsible for assisting in the daily management of unit activities including staff supervision and development, planning, budget, quality and facility operations and coordinating patient services to ensure high quality patient care and optimal outcomes.
Location Parkland: 6th FLR BLK 600
Minimum Specifications Education Bachelor's degree in nursing, preferred.
Experience Must have three (3) years of professional nursing experience.
Certification / Registration / Licensure
Current RN license or valid temporary permit with Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
On hire or placement: ALS or ACLS certification from ASh, ARC, or Military Training Network for the following cost centers: 60080, 61300, 61310, 62300, 60690, 61920, 62250, 62180, 61930, 62330, 60240, 60490, 60500, 60550, 61200, 61210, 61250, 62310, 70440, 71010.
On hire or placement: NRP or ONS Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy certification from ASh, ARC, or Military Training Network for the following cost centers: 63200, 63220, 63210, 61230, 61920, 61930.
On hire or placement: PALS or ENPC certification from ASh, ARC, or Military Training Network for the following cost centers: 62300, 60080, 62180.
On hire or placement: TNCC or ATCN certification for the following cost centers: 60240, 61250.
Within 18 months of hire or placement: ABLS Instructor Certification for the following cost centers: 62100, 62310 (CNOR Certification Preferred) and 62300.
Within 24 months of placement: CEN, CCRN, Certified Med‑Surg Nurse, or other as required for the following cost centers: 61920, 61930, 60850, 63000, 63200, 63220, 63210, 61230, 61920, 61930.
Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring Training upon hire or placement and until October 1, 2025, for the following cost center: 63000, 63200, 63220, 63210, 61230, 61920, 61930.
Skills or Special Abilities
Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nurse Practice Act, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area specific standards.
Capable of serving as a clinical resource for staff.
Working knowledge of department operations including policies, personnel and budget management.
Effective verbal and written communication skills when working with a diverse population of physicians, patients, nursing staff, management and administration.
Demonstrates patient‑centered, patient‑valued behaviors.
Responsibilities
Assist in daily management of unit activities to ensure high‑quality patient care and optimal outcomes; develop staff schedules to maximize individual and group capabilities; supervise, counsel, delegate, and evaluate staff; provide patient care, assess needs, plan discharge, and arrange support services; serve as a clinical role model and educational resource; maintain knowledge of regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines; analyze job design and workflow to improve efficiency; monitor quality management practices and collaborate with staff, physicians, administration, and risk management; track effectiveness of unit policies and assist in policy development; educate patients and families; foster positive working relationships with staff, physicians, students, and other departments; maintain facility management standards; assist in developing and administering operating, capital, and payroll budgets; develop unit goals and objectives; serve on multidisciplinary committees.
