Intelligent Transportation System Specialist – ITSS, Traffic & Lighting
PN 20057087 – Warrensville Heights, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
Job Description Responsibilities:
Independently program, install, troubleshoot, repair & maintain complex traffic signal and intelligent transportation system devices such as cellular modems, wireless radios, fiber‑optic equipment, dynamic message systems, freeway surveillance cameras, ramp meters, destination dynamic message signs, etc.
Use a computer and related software.
Run diagnostic tests and basic network troubleshooting.
May work as a lead worker (providing direction & training).
Review construction plans to ensure that proposed work complies with departmental standards.
Conduct inspections of complex traffic signal systems and components installed by contractors.
Qualifications Undergraduate core in electrical engineering or engineering and transportation technology; 36 months of experience troubleshooting/maintaining and/or repairing electrical circuits and traffic signal components; 60 months of combined electrical training/experience to include 60 months of traffic signal orCHED
ITS related training/experience, troubleshooting/repair of electrical circuits, networking/communication equipment, and traffic signal or ITS components.
Or 24 months experience as a Traffic Signal Technician 2.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. Note: If the position will be assignedirão to operate motorized equipment of size & type regulated by Sections 4506.1, 4506.03 & 4506.12 of the Ohio Revised Code, the applicant must also have a valid commercial driver license; if required to operate a state vehicle, the applicant must have a valid driver’s license.
