Radiation Oncology Registered Veterinary Technician

to join our Oncology team. In this role you will work as part of the Oncology team to ensure exceptional patient care and provide overall support and assistance to all CASE departments, doctors, and hospital team members. The person in this position is a direct conduit for all CASE Oncology needs. Location

$25 - $34 for Registered Veterinary Technicians based on experience and skills assessment $35 - $40 for Veterinary Technician Specialists Anticipated Schedule

Full Time Tuesday - Friday: 7:30am - 5:30pm Duties & Responsibilities

Proficiency in creating patient estimates and treatment plan formulation for radiation oncology patients. Proficiency in obtaining patient medical history. Proficiency in admitting and discharging patients within the Oncology service. Demonstrate exceptional client communication and education as well as assistance with scheduling appointments, surgeries, and advanced imaging. Demonstrate competency in calculating medications and drug doses. Proficiency in obtaining diagnostics related to radiation oncology consultations including bloodwork, radiographs and advanced imaging. Practices proper and safe patient restraint of the oncology patient. Proficiency in performing general venipuncture, peripheral catheter placement and maintenance. Profound knowledge of disease processes and treatment options. Radiation Oncology Anesthesia-related Skill set and Responsibilities

Perform pre‑anesthesia examinations to determine safety and risk for oncology cases. Implement prescribed anesthetic/sedation plans from pre‑anesthesia through recovery including monitoring throughout. Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing a VAP port. Understand and use CASE anesthesia monitoring forms/protocols. Proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting anesthesia machinery and monitoring equipment. Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with at least 2 years of applicable experience. At least 1 year of experience within a specialty veterinary hospital, preferably within the Oncology department (required). Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology. Ability to communicate well with other CASE staff members. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required; fluency in multiple languages a plus. Ability to work independently and with little or no supervision.
