Kake City School District is seeking a dedicated and flexible
Special Education Teacher
to serve students in grades PreK–12. This position supports a small, rural school community of approximately 100 students in Kake, Alaska. Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction to students with a range of disabilities, from mild/moderate to severe. Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with general education staff and families. Deliver services across multiple grade levels and settings (pull‑out, push‑in, inclusive). Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on individual needs. Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education requirements. Qualifications
Must hold a valid Alaska Type C Special Education teaching certificate. Experience working with a variety of disability categories required. Prior Alaska teaching experience strongly preferred. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Position Details
