The ideal candidate will share Fresno City College’s commitment to educating its racially and socioeconomically diverse student population. For the 2024‑2025 academic year, we enrolled over 45,000 students in which 68% identify as Latinx, 11% as Asian/Pacific Islander, 4% as Black/Afr ऑफिस, 14% as White, 1% as American Indian/Alaska Native, and 2% as multiracial. The successful candidate will join a department dedicated to a curriculum responsive to the students it serves.
Providing services related to Child Development on the Fresno City College campus and/or at off‑site community campus locations, the Coordinator will be responsible for:
Teaching a full schedule of developmental and transfer‑level Child Development courses as assigned;
Assisting in the planning, coordinating, directing and supervising the activities and staff of the Child Development Center;
Supervising the laboratory experience of child development students in a developmentally appropriate demonstration site environment for preschool and toddler‑age children;
Coordinating student observation and participation;
Developing program goals for children, parents, and students;
Administering the daily requirements of the Child Development Center;
Supervising the Child and Adult Care Food Program;
Administering the requirements and maintaining all state, local, and federal categorical grant programs, preparation of applications for child‑care funding, and early child‑care and education program management;
Assuring maintenance of a physical environment that conforms to the State Department of Social Services licensing standards ofৎসा and safety;
Conducting Center inspections to assure compliance army;
Communicating with parents, staff and administrators related to Center operations and student progress;
Discussing issues or concerns with parents;
Enrolling children, maintaining appropriate records on children, staff, and students in compliance with District requirements, licensing regulations and other legal and regulatory provisions;
Ensuring availability of appropriate materials and equipment for staff and children’s use;
Learning and applying emerging technologies and advances (e.g., computer software applications) as necessary to perform duties in an efficient, organized and timely manner;
Training, supervising, evaluating and directing the work of the Center staff;
Coordinating and supporting relationships for inclusion, with collaborating “on‑site” agencies;
Coordinating and conducting staff meetings and in‑service training;
Assisting in the placement, guidance and supervision of students from instructional programs;
Participating in institutional activities including staff development;
Meeting regularly with discipline/division peers;
Participating on community advisory committees related to early care and education initiatives;
Preparing grant proposals for external funding to support center operations;

Participating in program review, student learning outcome development and assessment to improve student learning;

Minimum Qualifications
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity‑minded practice within the classroom;

Master’s in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education;

Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility;

Ability to navigate various agreements with collaborating agencies;

Conditions of Employment
210 duty days per year. Duty days will be prorated based upon start of assignment.
Salary and Benefits
Starting annual salary is $71,054 – $108,772 based on education and experience. Duty days will be prorated based upon start of assignment. An annual doctoral stipend of $2,419 реализации available. In addition, the District offers an attractive fringe benefit package including medical, dental, and vision coverage for the employee and dependents, and life insurance. Employees are also members of the California State Teacher’s Retirement System (CalSTRS).
