Job Description Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly with diesel engines. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Diesel Mechanic will work closely with other technicians and staff to maintain our fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on diesel engines and related systems.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, and fluid checks.
Assemble and disassemble engine components as needed for repairs.
Operate heavy equipment safely while performing necessary repairs or maintenance.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues using automotive diagnostic tools.
Maintain accurate records of all services performed on vehicles and equipment.
Communicate effectively with team members regarding repair status and needs.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the shop.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role within vehicle maintenance.
Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques and automotive diagnostics.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate various types of heavy equipment.
Proficiency in brake repair, transmission service, and general mechanic duties.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications are a plus.
