Position Overview We are seeking experienced ICU Registered Nurses for a 13-week contract assignment. This role involves providing high-acuity care in the Intensive Care Unit and may include floating between critical care areas as needed. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional clinical judgment, adaptability, and confidence managing critically ill adult patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients
Manage complex patient conditions requiring continuous monitoring and advanced interventions
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with intensivists and the interdisciplinary team
Administer and titrate critical care medications and drips, including vasopressors, sedatives, insulin, and heparin
Manage ventilators, invasive lines, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Rapidly recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
Serve as charge nurse when assigned
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with hospital and nursing standards
Patient Population
Common diagnoses: Sepsis, ARDS, respiratory failure, multi-organ dysfunction, post-operative critical care, cardiac and neuro critical patients
Ventilated and non-ventilated ICU patients
Typical patient ratios: 1:1–2
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
Minimum of 1 successful traveler assignment completed (first-time travelers not considered)
BLS and ACLS certifications required (CCRN preferred)
Meditech experience required
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to perform effectively under pressure in high-acuity environments
Demonstrated leadership, prioritization, and teamwork skills
