Job Summary We are seeking a
Test Engineer – Protection & Control (P&C)
with
0–3 years of experience
to support the installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protection and control systems used in power substations. This role is ideal for early-career engineers looking to build hands-on experience in electrical power systems, protection relays, and control technologies.
The engineer will apply electrical engineering fundamentals and computer-based tools to ensure reliable operation of protection and control equipment, including microprocessor relays, PLCs, sensors, motors, and associated systems.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot
protection and control relaying systems
and associated devices
Perform
calibration and testing
of protection and control relays and related equipment
Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining
protection and control documentation
Support assigned
project leads
with field activities and testing assignments
Install, program, configure, and maintain
P&C relays and devices
Participate in
process hazard analyses (PHA)
and safety reviews
Read, interpret, and work from
electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
Maintain awareness of
current industry standards, technologies, and best practices
Follow safety procedures and quality standards during field and testing activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
(Electrical Engineering preferred)
0–3 years of experience
in engineering, testing, or a related technical role
Familiarity with
Microsoft Office applications
Ability to read and interpret
electrical schematics and drawings
Working knowledge of
PLCs and HMIs
Understanding of
AC and DC electrical systems
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to work in field environments such as substations
