1-2-1 Tutor Needed - Berkshire Suitable to NQT New
Quantum Scholars are working in partnership with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Berkshire who are looking for a qualified teacher to support four KS3 pupils in Maths and English.
The role will involve 2-3 hours of teaching per day, Monday to Thursday, on a long-term basis, starting as soon as possible.
Due to the nature of the position, you must have access to your own transport, as sessions will be delivered across two separate school sites.
The Role You will provide small-group tuition to KS3 pupils who need additional academic and emotional support. The focus is on re-engaging learners, improving attainment, and building confidence in core subjects.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and well-structured Maths and English lessons tailored to individual needs
Teach small groups of up to four pupils in a supportive, well-managed setting
Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons in line with the KS3 curriculum
Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe learning environment
Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback
Work collaboratively with PRU staff and school teams across both sites
Support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs to help them re-engage with learning
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
Experience teaching or tutoring KS3 Maths and/or English
Ability to motivate and engage pupils with additional needs
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Own transport (essential)
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate
Right to Work in the UK (sponsorship is not available for this role)
