Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician Opportunity in Wheaton, MD

Holy Cross Health Cancer Center is actively seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician to join their team! This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant outpatient practice setting, providing care for both adult and geriatric patients in Wheaton, MD. Join a dedicated team that includes a breast surgeon, surgical oncologists, and experienced radiation oncologists, all while sharing space with a radiation treatment center.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide outpatient care 3-5 days a week for 8 hours per day.
  • Manage inpatient on-call coverage for 7 days per month, providing 24-hour call while also handling outpatient clinic duties.
  • Participate on a Tumor Board and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Order and interpret tests and imaging studies.
  • Prescribe necessary treatments and manage patients requiring chronic care.
  • Perform outpatient procedures including chemotherapy administration, FNA/biopsy, and management of VAD/CV catheters.
  • Utilize the EPIC documentation system for patient management.
Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology (REQUIRED).
  • Active Maryland State License (REQUIRED at time of submission).
  • Active Maryland DEA and CDS certifications (REQUIRED at time of submission).
  • BLS or ACLS certification (REQUIRED to obtain privileges).
  • Ability to handle a patient volume of approximately 70-80 patients, primarily chronic management cases.
License and Certification Requirements
  • Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology.
  • Maryland State Medical License.
  • DEA and CDS Certifications.
  • BLS or ACLS Certification.
