SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Lemon Packing Operations, the Exchange Manager is responsible for managing all order desk operations including reviewing solicitations, booking and processing orders, coordinating and negotiating domestic and export shipments and terms with Sunkist sales and Limoneira shipping departments, and troubleshooting. Provide information to Sunkist which may include crop information, harvest information, storage and shipping inventory available including general product and packed product availability. Provide information pertaining to Limoneira operations to end customers as needed. Relay information to various Sunkist departments, as necessary. Convey Sunkist sales information to various Limoneira departments for planning and outcomes. Perform other duties as might be assigned by Limoneira Management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with Packinghouse Management to keep current on stored and packed fruit inventory and future availability
  • Attends daily lemons operations meetings
  • As guided by Executive Management and policies set up the Sunkist Sales Department, communicates daily with Sunkist Sales Department to provide information as well as gather information on upcoming market demand
  • Communicates market conditions and current and future product demand to Packinghouse Management to provide guidance in setting production priorities
  • Manages incoming sales communications including new orders, order changes, sales related verbal, email and Prophet generated inquiries between Limoneira packing operations and Sunkist sales
  • Manages Prophet system functionality with Sunkist and Limoneira
  • Solicits new order business from Sunkist sales / varietal personnel
  • Troubleshoots order and production discrepancies and relays outcomes to appropriate Limoneira departments and Sunkist
  • Collaborates with Limoneira shipping, production departments, Sunkist sales, and varietal personnel to facilitate optimal grower returns
  • Monitors and documents daily, weekly and monthly bookings and other sales-related information and communicates to Limoneira management personnel
  • Analyzes and reports on sales performance, and compiles reports requested by management
  • Cross-trains with all select Packinghouse teams and select Limoneira personnel as needed
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by management personnel

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must have completed a high school diploma; four year degree preferred or experience in other relevant field or discipline; Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license.
  • SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Strong, efficient and professional communication via telephone, email, texting and other application,
strong analytical skills; must be able to manage and operate within a computerized sales environment and automated sales order system; experience and working knowledge of industry and government regulations; is able to communicate effectively with all levels of customers, production, management and Sunkist sales personnel under adverse conditions at times; should possess both industry, market and product knowledge; is familiar with marketing and able to coordinate marketing efforts with other agencies as necessary and be able to interpret market information in order to provide management with information about the effectiveness of Sunkist sales and marketing efforts and guidance regarding the storage and packing of product; must possess supervisory skills and knowledge of basic employment law; must be able to read, analyze and interpret financial and statistical reports; is able to utilize a computerized sales information system; regular and timely attendance in the packinghouse office. Telework or telecommuting is not an option; must be able to do general mathematical functions accurately; must be familiar with computer use and able to perform basic data entry on computer; must have knowledge of how the shipping system operates and relates to the sales/order function; attention to detail; ability to maintain documents in an orderly manner; problem-solving skills
