Job Description:
Our client, a global leader in the technology industry based in San Diego, is seeking a
Senior Technical Accountant
to join their Corporate Accounting Practices and Reporting group. This role plays a critical part in preparing SEC filings, managing complex accounting transactions, and providing guidance on acquisitions, dispositions, and new accounting standards. Responsibilities: Prepare and file quarterly, annual, and other financial reports with the SEC.
Collaborate with business units and corporate functions to determine and document proper accounting treatment for complex transactions.
Lead projects that support business units and corporate functions in accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and implementing new accounting guidance.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
2+ years of experience in a Big Four accounting firm.
CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently.
Experience in a large, matrixed organization and/or the tech industry is a plus.
Proficiency with systems such as WDesk, Oracle, HFM, and Microsoft.
Level of Responsibility: Operates independently with minimal supervision.
Influences key organizational decisions with high impact.
Requires strong problem-solving, prioritization, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
Preferred Skills: Experience with XBRL tagging.
Aptitude for accounting process optimization.
Prior technical leadership or project management experience.
