A leading General Contractor in Houston is looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee new ground-up industrial construction projects, including tilt-wall, PEMB, and large-scale warehouses. The company has a strong reputation in the industrial sector and offers a long-term opportunity with a healthy pipeline of upcoming work.
About the Role:
The Project Manager will lead all phases of construction from preconstruction through closeout. Youll be responsible for budget, schedule, subcontractor coordination, and client communication, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of construction projects from precon through final closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking systems
- Negotiate, award, and manage subcontractor and vendor contracts
- Coordinate with field Superintendents to ensure timely and quality execution of work
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and consultants
- Lead internal and external project meetings, including OAC and subcontractor progress meetings
- Ensure project compliance with plans, specifications, and company standards
- Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications
- Identify and mitigate project risks and delays early in the process
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting for internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Promote a strong safety culture and support site teams in upholding all safety requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager with a General Contractor
- Proven experience managing ground-up industrial projects, including tilt-wall and PEMB construction
- Strong financial and contractual knowledge, with the ability to manage project budgets and subcontractor relationships
- Familiar with scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar) and construction documentation
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and client-facing skills
- Stable work history with consistent tenure at prior employers
