College of Medicine, Clinical Learning Center
Responsibilities
- This position provides technical, academic, fiscal and administrative support to the Clinical Learning Center (CLC) at the College of Medicine.
- Coordinates the Clinical Learning Center (CLC) faculty teaching schedules and monitors attendance. Organizes collection and input of faculty scoring sheets, student evaluations, prep session activities and activities associated with the administration. Coordinates CLC student schedules and assignments.
- Coordinates the daily operations of the CLC including the functioning of patient simulation, part-task trainers, and audiovisual equipment used to conduct simulation based learning and evaluation of students. Responsible for performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting computer hardware and software and audio-visual equipment for solutions for the CLC. Troubleshoots mannequin based simulation devices and part-task trainers. Program simulators for case scenarios. Serves as a resource to faculty using simulation in their courses.
- Assists with Outreach & Advising SSTRIDE Summer Camp. Provides visiting groups with tours of Facilities including Harvey sessions and interactions as health care providers, etc.
- Provides technological support to faculty, staff and standardized patients throughout sessions. Ensures CLC is kept clean and organized while focusing on safety guidelines set by Environmental Health and Safety. Contacts facilities maintenance of potentially harmful issues. Attains and renews necessary trainings of Biohazard and Bloodborne Pathogens. Coordinates the records, scores, and evaluations within Educational Management Solutions software, works directly with EMS customer support to resolve any technical issues.
- Manages departmental budgets and attends budget meetings with COM accounting staff on a regular basis. Responsible for procurement of clinical and office supplies, preparation of requisitions in Spearmart and tracking delivery of items, in accordance with FSU policies and procedures. Communicates directly with vendors and sales representatives during the procurement process. Maintains and monitors expenditure reports. Serves as department representative for all finance and administrative activities. Acts as first point of contact for transactional accounting and human resources needs (i.e., procurement of supplies and equipment, employee profile maintenance, and payment of adjunct faculty). Processes and submits all travel authorizations, gathers documentation and submits travel reimbursements. Makes all necessary travel arrangements to include hotel, flights, car rentals, etc. for faculty, staff, and guests in accordance with FSU policies and procedures ensuring travel arrangements and reimbursements are processed in a timely manner. Assures accuracy of purchasing documentation prior to final approval by the director.
- Provides direct assistance to the Director of the CLC for compilation and preparation of materials for meetings. Compiles Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Residency, and PA, FOSCE and OSCE data and reports while providing information needed for management decisions. Assists Medical and PA Course Directors in compiling and maintaining electronic data related to operation of the CLC, including records of student performance, cases, teaching materials, schedules, financial records, etc.
- Compiles data for contract and grant research projects for faculty as requested (i.e. Geriatric Workforce Enhancement, Diabetes, etc.). Participates in organizing interprofessional education sessions. (per semester). Manages the security of the CLC site and testing materials. Handles Personal Health Information requiring HIPPA training. Maintains SharePoint/TEAMS site for Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Residency, PA and Interdisciplinary course materials. Develops and maintains filing system for the CLC including documentation of testing, case files, warranties and maintenance information of all equipment.
- Promotes an atmosphere of teamwork in accomplishing the mission and goal of the CLC to include participating in activities and curriculum delivery as directed and serving as back up for functions as assigned in order to provide adequate coverage. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Directors.
