Job Title: Manual Machinist
Location: Lansing, MI
Job Type: Full-Time | 1st Shift 8am-4;30pm Monday-Friday
Pay: $18/hr
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating lathes, mills, and other manual machining equipment to produce high-quality parts to exact specifications. This is a great opportunity to work in a hands-on, precision-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and other shop equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements
Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Work independently or as part of a team to meet production goals
Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of experience as a manual machinist preferred
Strong understanding of machining techniques and metal properties
Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools
Good math skills and attention to detail
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
Dependable with strong work ethic and team mindset
