Manual Machinist
This position is with a leading provider of high-quality pipeline products, specializing in solutions for the oil, gas, and construction industries. Our focus is on producing durable and precise components for pipeline construction and maintenance. We are currently looking for a skilled Manual Machinist to join our talented team and support our commitment to excellence in manufacturing. Pay: $25 - $30hr Job Summary
As a Manual Machinist, you will operate a variety of manual machining tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses to manufacture components and parts used in the pipeline industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with manual equipment, a strong understanding of technical drawings, and a keen eye for detail and quality. Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and other machinery to produce parts and components for pipeline products. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining specifications, materials, and tooling requirements. Measure and inspect finished parts for accuracy and ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications. Adjust machine settings and tooling to maintain proper machining operations and tolerances. Perform routine machine maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and part replacements to ensure optimal performance and safety. Monitor machine operations and adjust processes as necessary to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and meet production goals. Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to ensure parts meet dimensional tolerances. Communicate with other team members and supervisors to coordinate production schedules and resolve machining issues. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following safety protocols to minimize accidents and maintain a safe working environment. Document work performed, including material usage, machine downtime, and production output, as required. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in manual machining or a related field preferred. Proven experience as a manual machinist, particularly in manufacturing or the pipeline products industry. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. Proficient in using manual machining equipment such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders. Strong knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining techniques. Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, precise parts. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable standing for long periods, performing manual tasks such as operating machines, measuring, and handling materials. Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to loud machinery, heat, and occasional dust. Benefits
