Chief Compliance Officer Opportunity
Central Health in Austin, TX has exclusively retained AMN Healthcare to lead a national search to recruit the Chief Compliance Officer. This is an exceptional opportunity for a knowledgeable compliance executive to join a prestigious, mission driven organization that is committed to bridging the gap in healthcare disparities. Central Health is a unique and comprehensive system and the hospital district of Travis County, TX in the Austin metropolitan area. Central Health provides health and wellness services that make health care better for all of Travis County, including direct medical care in various specialties and lines of service that bridge the deepest gaps in Travis County's safety-net system
from podiatry to pulmonology to palliative care. Central Health also administers the Medical Access Program (MAP), which covers health care costs for county residents with low income. Central Health is continuing to evolve into a comprehensive, high-functioning health care system for residents with low income who need it most. The district's Health Care Equity Plan, adopted in early 2022, is guiding up to $700 million in investments to close the gaps that persist throughout the safety-net health care system
in primary care, specialty care, dental and behavioral health, hospital-based care, and post-acute transitions of care. The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) will be responsible for developing and overseeing Central Health's enterprise-wide compliance program and ensuring sound and effective compliance operations. Reporting to the President/CEO and the Medical Executive Board (MEB), the CCO will oversee policy and procedure development, employee training, and internal auditing activities. The CCO will also serve as a liaison to the Central Health Board of Managers regarding all compliance matters. Additionally, the CCO will oversee appropriate internal and external compliance resources as necessary. The CCO will foster a culture of compliance across Central Health and create an environment in which compliance is a top priority. The CCO will monitor changes in the healthcare industry and local/national legislation to ensure compliance policies are up to date. The CCO will possess: - A Bachelor's degree is required. Graduate degree in accounting/auditing, business administration, law (JD), or operations management preferred. - Minimum 5 years of compliance and/or auditing experience in healthcare. Experience in compliance or audit for at least one of these additional areas strongly preferred: sponsored awards; research; non-profit finance; healthcare reimbursement through governmental sources (i.e., Medicare and Medicaid). - Experience overseeing regulatory and legal compliance, including day to day leadership of auditing, monitoring and regulatory education efforts.
