Senior Accountant
PrideStaff is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a building materials supplier located in Mooresville, NC. Location: Mooresville, NC 28115 Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Salary: $65,000-75,000/yr. based on experience The team you will be joining: Market leader with over 200+ years in business $40M division of a global company with $567 million in revenue, 2300+ employees at 11 facilities on 5 continents Manufacturing excellence with a focus on functional engineering, environmental integrity, and driving comfort What they offer you: Executive leadership that is highly engaged offering both experience and knowledge Dynamic employees with great moral, high retention/low turnover, and growth opportunities Great work environment where performance is rewarded Location: On-site in Mooresville What you will do: Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a hands-on role in the day-to-day accounting function including monthly close, account reconciliations, and financial analysis Assist Controller in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and reporting process including reporting results in Cognos. Prior Cognos experience preferred, not required. Work with Controller to ensure monthly/quarterly sales & use tax filings are completed accurately and timely Participate in the quarterly forecasting and budgeting process Serve as backup to Junior Accountant ensuring vendor invoices are approved and processed in Dynamics 365 accurately, assist when needed with completing Accounts Payable check runs, and respond to vendor inquiries including reconciliation of vendor accounts Regularly send out customer statements, work with customers in understanding delays in payments, escalate those issues to Controller, process customer credit card payments, and apply customer payments timely Assist Controller in reconciliation of credit card expenses/statements Play a key role, through user acceptance testing, in the enhancement, upgrade, and maintenance of financial systems Ad Hoc reporting and projects at the direction of the Controller and/or General Manager How you are qualified: 2 - 4 years of accounting experience with general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close process, account reconciliation, expense analysis, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing preferred, not required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting required Experience with Dynamics 365 and/or Cognos preferred, not required Intermediate level of aptitude in MS Excel (pivot tables / VLOOKUP preferred) US GAAP knowledge Positive attitude and ability to roll up sleeves in a player-coach capacity Excellent time management and efficiency skills
