Human Resources Manager

Location: Hybrid in Washington, DC Industry: Human Resources / Professional Services Pay: $40-45/hour, depending on experience Type: Contract Background Check: Required Addison Group is partnering with a reputable organization in the Washington, DC area to identify an experienced Human Resources Manager for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys leading both strategic and operational HR functions. Job Description: The Human Resources Manager will oversee core HR functions including employee relations, policy development, compliance, performance management, and talent strategy. This role will work closely with leadership to support the organization's people goals while managing day-to-day HR operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage HR operations including compliance, employee relations, performance reviews, and HR policy administration Act as a strategic advisor to leadership on HR best practices, workforce planning, and organizational development Oversee employee engagement efforts and promote a positive workplace culture Ensure HR practices comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations Manage and enhance internal HR processes and systems Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives Qualifications: 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 23 years in a managerial role Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and workforce management Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Experience handling confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms Bachelor's degree required; HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred Perks: High-impact leadership role within a collaborative team Opportunity to influence HR strategy and operations Flexible hybrid schedule Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
