We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join our legal team in a hybrid capacity. This role involves managing a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, including personal injury, general liability, premises liability, and construction defect claims. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional litigation and case management skills, and a strong understanding of California civil procedure.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities: Manage a full caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and witnesses Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials (virtually or in person, as needed) Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop case strategies Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel Negotiate settlements and provide recommendations for case resolution Maintain accurate case records and billing in accordance with firm/client guidelines
Qualifications
Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active and in good standing with the California State Bar 3+ years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and organizational abilities Proficient in case management software and legal research tools Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
