Under the supervision of the Communications Manager, the Communications Specialist will assist in carrying out the department's strategic initiatives and informing Doyon shareholders about corporate activities, operations, and goals. Additionally, the Communications Specialist will inform employees about corporate operations and goals while conducting effective marketing and advertising to educate and inform the public about Doyon and its role in the statewide and national community.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for creating, scheduling, and updating content posts, including advertisements and contests, and monitoring analytics of Doyon's social media accounts Draft and design most advertisements and other marketing materials to strengthen brand identity, including brochures, posters, postcards, and other collateral materials Draft and develop corporate videos, including content for the Annual Meeting of Shareholders and other events, and web content Responsible for managing radio and podcast shows for the organization Responsible for drafting and publishing, graphics design, photo, and editing video Act as a backup corporate photographer Manage corporate digital assets Support the creation and management of content for corporate website and employee portal Support the newsletter process, including drafting content and supporting timeline and assignments. This includes researching, interviewing, drafting, and editing newsletter articles Participate in community activities, network groups, and related organizational events Answer shareholder and other inquiries received via email, phone, social media, or website Some travel is required Other duties as assigned DOYON LIMITED CORE COMPETENCIES: Commitment to Excellence – Identifies what needs to be done and takes action to achieve a standard of excellence beyond job expectations. Planning and Organizing- Systematically develops plans, prioritizes, organizes, and manages resources in order to accomplish business goals within a specific time period. Problem Solving – Anticipates and identifies problems., distinguishes between symptoms and causes, and determines alternative solutions involving varied levels of complexity, ambiguity, and risk. Research Skills - Searches, finds and evaluates information sources. Time Management- Manages time effectively when accomplishing tasks, projects, and goals. Willingness to Learn- Willing to learn new skills or techniques to meet the demanding changes of job duties and responsibilities. SUPERVISION:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field o One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of the education requirement Proficient MS Office Products, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop Experience with the Associated Press writing style Experience with graphic artwork Two (2) years of experience working with basic PC proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Must have excellent communication, customer service, and project organizational skills WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
