We are seeking a Communications Specialist for an 8 month contract! Support the development and execution of internal communication plans for college-wide initiatives, announcements, and events, ensuring consistent messaging across internal channels. Manage and produce content for key internal communication platforms, including the portal, internal newsletters (e.g., employee newsletter, faculty digest, student updates), and digital signage. Collaborate with various departments (e.g., Human Resources, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management) to gather information and ensure timely communication of critical updates to internal stakeholders. Distribute messages using a variety of channels including digital screens, Outlook, Active Campaign, SharePoint, etc. Executive Communications Support: Draft and edit a variety of communications from the President, Provost, and other senior leaders, including memos, announcements, and briefing materials. Assist in crafting talking points and presentations for internal events such as Town Hall meetings and other leadership addresses. Ensure all executive communications are clear, concise, on-brand, and tailored to the intended internal audience. Content Creation & Editing: Write, edit, and proofread diverse internal communications content, upholding the College's brand guidelines, editorial standards, and tone of voice. Assist with maintaining the college's editorial calendar for internal platforms. Manage site content for the college's intranet page and work with college partners to update and build content on the SharePoint environment. Crisis Communications Support (as needed): Provide immediate support in drafting and disseminating urgent internal messages and updates during sensitive situations or emergencies, under the guidance of the AVP and Communications team. QUALIFICATIONS . * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications, with a strong focus on internal communications and executive support, preferably within a complex organizational setting. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills are paramount, with a proven ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling content quickly. Demonstrated experience in developing and executing communication strategies and tactical plans and managing multiple deadlines. Some experience with email platforms, such as Active Campaign or the ability to learn quickly. SharePoint experience is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment. High degree of professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential information. * Ability to adapt quickly to evolving priorities and needs within a dynamic setting.
