We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Senior Project Manager for our Permits department to oversee the end-to-end permitting process for construction and development projects. The Permits Manager is responsible for reviewing architectural and engineering drawings for compliance with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and other local, state, or federal requirements. This role coordinates all permitting activities with internal teams, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely approvals and supports the successful closeout of projects. ⸻ Key Responsibilities: • Code Compliance & Drawing Review • Review construction documents, site plans, and engineering drawings for compliance with building codes, zoning ordinances, fire codes, ADA standards, and other applicable regulations. • Identify discrepancies and recommend modifications to ensure regulatory compliance prior to submission. • Permitting Coordination • Serve as the liaison between the organization and permitting authorities, including city, county, and state agencies. • Track permit statuses and follow up proactively to avoid delays. • Process Management • Establish and maintain permitting schedules, checklists, and workflows to streamline the review and approval process. • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers to gather required documentation. • Closeout Support • Manage final inspections and coordinate with contractors to resolve outstanding issues or corrections. • Ensure all permit closeouts, certificates of occupancy (CO), and compliance documentation are secured and filed appropriately. • Stakeholder Communication • Communicate permitting requirements and updates to internal and external stakeholders. • Provide guidance and technical support regarding code interpretations and jurisdictional requirements. ⸻ Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • 5+ years of experience in permitting, code compliance, or a similar regulatory coordination role. • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and permitting processes. • Experience reviewing architectural and engineering drawings. • Strong organizational and project management skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficient with permitting software, document management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
