This role requires independent action, collaborative effort, and a strong commitment to ensuring the availability and performance of our network infrastructure. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Network Engineer will also contribute to the deployment of new network technologies and equipment while ensuring adherence to established standards and policies. Job Summary A Network Engineer is a key member of the IT Infrastructure team, responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our corporate networks. This role requires independent action, collaborative effort, and a strong commitment to ensuring the availability and performance of our network infrastructure. Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Network Engineer will also contribute to the deployment of new network technologies and equipment while ensuring adherence to established standards and policies. Essential Job Functions Collaborate on the design and implementation of system configurations for networking environments, following established standards and best practices. Consult with senior team members and business units to determine hardware requirements and support the coordination of installation efforts. Monitor network performance, identify and resolve routine issues, and assist in planning and scheduling upgrades to maintain network stability and performance. Work closely with network architects to optimize network design and configuration for improved performance and reliability. Perform network infrastructure duties across LAN/WAN, ensuring secure access and continuously monitoring network traffic for potential issues. Assist in developing and enforcing network security policies and access controls to protect system integrity and data confidentiality. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies through ongoing learning and professional development. Provide technical support for Credit Union network equipment, troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure minimal downtime. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in TCP/IP, OSI Model, Firewalls, and a solid understanding of common network protocols such as BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, and basic DCI concepts. Experience with network infrastructure deployment and support within Data Center, Remote Office/Location, and Cloud environments. Basic understanding of secure and resilient network design principles, including routing, switching, network segmentation, and fault tolerance. Familiarity with packet and traffic analysis techniques to troubleshoot and optimize network performance. Industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent are preferred. Hands-on experience with networking equipment, particularly Arista and Meraki, along with VOIP solutions like Cisco Unified Call Manager and Jabber. Desirable experience with Arista CloudVision, Python scripting, API integration, Linux, Spine/Leaf data center architecture, and SDWAN technologies. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with effective prioritization. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate well within a team environment. Good written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with stakeholders at various levels. Experience with artificial intelligence desired Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; an advanced degree is preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in network engineering roles. Prior experience in the financial services industry is a plus but not required. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and hold a valid driver's license.
