Senior COBOL Mainframe Programmer

The role involves maintaining and developing online and batch application programs, analyzing and developing programs using COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and JCL, and providing post-implementation support. Responsibilities: Maintain and develop online and batch application programs by reviewing, analyzing, coding, testing, and debugging application code. Develop specifications, diagrams, flowcharts, and documentation. Analyze and develop programs using COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and JCL for new enhancements. Implement application changes, enhancements, and new applications; provide post-implementation support. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in a related area 8-10 years of experience in the field or a related area Familiar with a variety of field’s concepts, practices, and procedures Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Advanced Structured Analysis and Design for online and batch DB2/IMS/CICS/MVS/Cobol/JCL Mainframe environments Structured Analysis and Design of Online and Batch DB2/CICS/MVS COBOL Mainframe using SPUFI, SQL Experience in Technical Writing and Documentation Excellent oral and written communication skills Application Development and Support of IMS/CICS/DB2/COBOL/JCL Mainframe Post-production support on middle to large mainframe applications Analytical/problem-solving skills Familiarity with .NET/C#/SQL Server/API/Visual Studio Preferred: Knowledge of client programs Prior experience with client systems, procedures, and development standards Experience working with TANF or large Health and Human Services systems Company: Serigor provides IT Services and staffing to government and commercial enterprises.
