The Arc Oneida-Lewis , a pioneer in championing individuals with disabilities, invites you to step into the role of a Bus Monitor ! About the Role: Responsible for supervision and oversight of passengers during bus transport to and from various program sites. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The following is a summary of the essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below and essential functions may change from time to time. Promote and adhere to all elements of the Agency's CQL outcomes and Core Values and demonstrate knowledge and commitment to the Arc's Mission. Ensure protection from abuse, neglect, mistreatment and exploitation in regard to the health, safety, comfort, and well-being for the people we support by adhering to all related policies. Assist the Bus Driver in maintaining order on the bus Remain attentive to all passengers at all times Assist with operation of the wheelchair lift as directed by the bus driver Assist with fastening seat belts as needed Assist with securement of tie downs as directed by the bus driver Intervene with behavioral issues as needed Maintain Vehicle interior as far as disinfecting, cleaning and neatness Complete any paperwork as assigned Dress in a proper manner. Clothing that is clean, neat and is presentable to the public. Perform any other duties as requested. Promote and adhere to all elements of the Agency's Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies. Maintain and promote confidentiality in accordance with Agency policy. Comply with all aspects of the Agency's Safety Policy. Serve on Agency committees as assigned. Attend meetings as dictated by your job responsibilities and/or as assigned. Attend and complete all mandatory training. Adhere to scheduled hours and submit completed timesheets to supervisor on time each payroll period. Qualifications: The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work independently and function as a team member with a wide range of people. Ability to work split shift mornings and afternoons. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to write legibly Normal visual and hearing acuity Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time Ability to access Agency sites Education and Experience Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: High School diploma or GED, clean NYS Drivers License PAY & PERKS: The pay range for this position is $16.25/hr split shift.
