Heller Machine Tools Develop and implement robust machining/processing solutions for universal product applications. Heavily focused on customer satisfaction through design integrity and superior engineering expertise. Tool and clamping fixture technology and processes Management of complete projects in regards of engineering of machining processes, tool and clamping fixture technology with coordination to the customer, subsequent departments and suppliers Monitoring of processing activities (engineering, schedule and cost review) Support during runoff/acceptance of the process Support of the proposal group in process design Application CAM programming, simulation/verification of technology processes Programming for machining tests and programs for machine test/tryout Support during runoff/service support through NC process and programming expertise Support of the proposal group in process design Development and design of CNC application programs, technology and special cycles for specific technology processes Support for controls development on technology issues Project Management Effort control for the processing activity (schedule and cost review) Overall project monitoring of engineering and costs Planning and securing capacities for customer projects Project Field Evaluation and Implementation Feasibility Assessment / Consulting Participate in test and commissioning Validation of design Technical Sales Support / Evaluation in office and on site customer visits Feasibility Assessment / Consulting Proposal creation (refer to proposal engineer description)

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Education and Experience:

Minimum 4 year mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience. Extensive machining / machine tool experience required. Area specialization may be required for particular role (i.e. aerospace, medical, etc.)

Hard Skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints GD & T Metrology (basis knowledge of materials) Cutting tool knowledge (feeds and speeds) Expert Level Machine Tool Design Understanding Work holding concepts Cost Estimating Scheduling Industrial Automation Systems Industrial Assembly Systems Basic Industrial Controls Systems Turnkey Design Intermediate to Advanced level in MS Office (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Beginning level of SAP Intermediate to advanced level in AutoCAD Advanced level of 3D CAD (preferably Creo; Inventor, NX, Solid Works, Catia, or others acceptable) Advanced level of CAM (preferably Hypermill, NX, MasterCAM, Esprit, or others acceptable) Soft Skills Manage time effectively Communicate effectively with customer, suppliers, Heller management and employees Public speaking (giving presentations to customers and internal on processes and product) Basic Project management (manage open issues list, manage vendors, etc.) Work well in a team environment (collaborate with internal departments) Critical thinking skills Troubleshooting/Problem Solving skills Cultural diversity/sensitivity

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Safety glasses may be required while performing specific tasks. Hearing protection may be required while performing specific tasks. Steel toe safety shoes may be required while performing specific tasks.

Work Environment:

Works in an office setting as well as manufacturing/shop floor. Various customer / end user sites, typically machine shop or high volume manufacturing facility located throughout the US.

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
