Annual Bonus Direct message the job poster from Tatum by Randstad Randstad is seeking a strategic Director of Tax to lead all aspects of the company’s income tax function, including compliance, provision, planning, and audit oversight. This high-impact leadership role offers broad visibility and direct influence over key financial and operational decisions in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. As the Director of Tax, you will be responsible for federal and state income tax compliance, ASC 740 tax provision reporting, audit management, tax strategy development, and team leadership. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and play a critical role in shaping the company’s tax position to support growth and long-term success. Schedule:
In-office 4 days/week and 1 remote day Direct Reports:
2 tax professionals Responsibilities Lead and manage federal and state income, franchise, and excise tax filings, ensuring full compliance and timely submission. Oversee the quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 and FIN 48, including ETR analysis and footnote disclosures. Direct audit strategy and responses for federal and state tax audits, including issue resolution and documentation of positions taken. Evaluate the impact of new and proposed tax legislation and regulatory changes; communicate implications to stakeholders and drive implementation. Provide tax guidance related to business expansion, M&A activity, and other strategic transactions. Oversee property tax compliance and assessments, coordinating payments and valuation appeals as necessary. Identify opportunities to optimize the company’s effective tax rate and manage cash tax liabilities. Enhance and maintain SOX 404-compliant processes and internal controls over the tax function. Develop, mentor, and manage a high-performing tax team, fostering growth and accountability. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA is a plus. CPA strongly preferred. 7+ years of tax experience in a public company environment and/or public accounting. Strong knowledge of ASC 740, FIN 48, SOX 404 controls, and federal/state tax regulations. Proven track record in managing complex tax audits and interacting with taxing authorities. Strong grasp of GAAP and its application in a public company environment.
