Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer [CAD Tools, Ang Mo Kio]

Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and integration of opto-mechanical subsystems for advanced laser and electro-optical systems, including optical mounts, enclosures, alignment mechanisms, thermal management, and vibration isolation solutions Conduct tolerance, structural, and thermal analyses using simulation software to ensure mechanical stability and design robustness Manage fabrication, assembly, and precision alignment of opto-mechanical components, ensuring manufacturability and readiness for field deployment Execute prototyping, system integration, environmental testing, ruggedization, and optimization for both mobile and fixed platform applications Collaborate closely with systems, electronics, and optical engineers to align mechanical designs with performance and operational specifications Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation such as design records, test reports, and validation data, adhering to configuration management protocols and industry standards Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Minimum of 5 years’ experience in opto-mechanical design for precision systems, ideally within defense, aerospace, or photonics sectors Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software such as ANSYS or COMSOL Familiarity with optical alignment techniques and thermal/vibration management for sensitive optical assemblies Hands-on experience with optical alignment and system integration is highly desirable Strong understanding of optical-mechanical interface requirements Detail-oriented and methodical approach to engineering documentation and system integration Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively across optical, electronics, and systems disciplines Proactive problem solver with experience supporting testing and field deployments Work Location:
