Who You Are : PSI is seeking a VP of Operations to lead our regional operations within the DMV area and beyond. This individual will partner closely with functional leads across our Construction, Finance, and Engineering teams to drive operational improvements and maximize profitability. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15+ years of experience in civil engineering and project management, along with team leadership. You will help lead our growth by focusing on margins and profitability and identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong technical background and the ability to manage complex projects from inception through completion. We want this leader to grow alongside us at PSI as we expand into new markets and lines of business. Responsibilities Engage in business development activities with clients and other firms to position PSI for expansion into new markets. Help manage the P&L of the firm as we look to expand into new markets. Ensure that our Engineering, Construction, and other practice teams are utilized at 85%+. Monitor our organization KPIs and interface regularly with internal stakeholders. Work closely with Construction Managers & Inspectors on highway improvement projects with key clients such as DDOT, VDOT, and others. Manage scope, schedule, and budget for our Transportation Engineering projects. Coach and mentor junior staff and collaborate with regional team members. Coordinate personnel assignments with contractor activities. Communicate directives to stakeholders and contractors, both internal and external. Required Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, ideally with a Master's degree preferred. 15+ years of Civil Engineering and Project Management experience, including Traffic & Transportation, Construction, Water Resources, or other key disciplines. P.E. license in D.C., MD, or VA. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 7+ years of people management experience. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of effectively conveying complex technical information to diverse stakeholders. Experience with DDOT, VDOT, MDOT, and projects in Virginia and Maryland. Preferred Qualifications : Advanced degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
