Position Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking a Deputy Planning Section Chief to support the Planning Section Chief in the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of operational information related to emergency incidents. This role assists in maintaining situational awareness, preparing and documenting Incident Action Plans (IAPs), and tracking the current and forecasted operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of incident-related operational information

Maintain information and intelligence on the current and forecasted incident situation

Monitor the status of assigned incident resources

Support the preparation and documentation of Incident Action Plans (IAPs)

Help gather and share critical incident intelligence with SERT personnel and partners

Assist in the development of situational awareness products and planning updates

Coordinate with other sections to ensure accurate and timely information flow

Basic Qualifications:

1+ years of work experience in an emergency management planning role

Familiarity with incident planning processes and documentation standards

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Experience working in dynamic and high-pressure environments

Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting federally declared disaster responses or multi-agency coordination efforts

ICS certification (ICS-300/400 preferred)

Experience with WebEOC or other incident management software

U.S. Citizenship Required: Yes

Performance Location: On-site while on assignment (location TBD)

Relocation Assistance: Not applicable

Clearance Required: None

Travel Required: Yes - up to 100% while on assignment

Working Environment:

Work is performed in Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), field environments, or remote coordination centers. Extended hours and travel may be required across the continental United States and its territories during emergency activations.
