Responsibilities

Key Performance Responsibilities of the VP & Chief Compliance Officer1. Compliance Oversight

Ensure adherence to laws such as HIPAA and behavioral health regulations. Conduct audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks. Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external auditors. Stay updated on regulatory changes and communicate relevant information to leadership. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance. 2. Licensing and Accreditation

Oversee licensing activities for facilities, programs, and staff. Manage relationships with accrediting bodies (e.g., The Joint Commission). Monitor compliance deadlines and maintain documentation for renewals. 3. Quality and Performance Improvement

Lead initiatives to enhance clinical quality and patient safety across facilities. Foster a high-reliability culture prioritizing safe and effective behavioral health services. Implement evidence-based performance improvement initiatives aligned with standards. Analyze incident reports and patient feedback to inform improvement strategies. 4. Policy and Procedure Development

Develop and maintain policies and procedures reflecting regulatory changes and best practices. Ensure staff training and compliance with updated policies. 5. Training and Education

Create and lead compliance education programs for all staff levels. Facilitate ongoing learning regarding regulation changes and compliance expectations. Promote a culture of accountability and transparency. 6. Incident and Risk Management

Oversee investigations related to compliance and patient safety events. Ensure timely reporting of incidents to regulatory bodies and track corrective action plans. Support enterprise risk management initiatives to reduce liability exposure. 7. Leadership and Collaboration

Act as a strategic partner to the executive team. Promote integration of compliance and performance goals across functions. Communicate compliance risks and updates to stakeholders, including the board and executives. 8. Data and Reporting

Oversee the collection and analysis of compliance and performance data. Ensure accurate reporting to regulatory and accrediting bodies. Utilize insights from data to support organizational strategy and innovation. Perform additional duties as assigned. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a Master's degree. Certification:

Professional certification in compliance (e.g., CHC) is preferred. Extensive Experience:

A minimum of 15 years of experience is required, including at least 10 years in healthcare compliance and licensing. Leadership Expertise:

Proven experience in compliance leadership and strategic risk management. Regulatory Knowledge:
