The enterprise architect spends a significant amount of time liaising with people from different teams, including product management, state enterprise leadership, developers, and executives, to ensure that architectures, roadmaps, and technical recommendations meet the needs of the organization and the people who'll be using it. The architect will help all team members to contribute to the architecture, taking good ideas from everyone and making them part of a coherent whole.
Key Responsibilities
Align Enterprise Architecture strategies and direction with implementation and delivery approaches within the Development team. Simplify implementation architectures to achieve development and infrastructure efficiencies; and to meet SLAs and operational stability goals. Define and manage the technical scope of projects by actively managing architecture requirements and functional requirements and guiding their implementation across development and infrastructure teams. Capture architectural requirements during the initial stage and interpret technical requirements and business needs into a solution Balance work assignments across multiple projects –working simultaneously in pre-and post-production situations. Be a contributor to the creation of best practices through the identification of reusable project-level assets. Keep abreast of new developments in the industry and gain an understanding on how new and emerging technologies are being deployed. Utilize new technology industry knowledge to advance solutions and assist our development teams to meet the expectations of portals, partners, and end users. Develop architecture artifacts, such as reference architectures, Technology roadmaps, and product roadmaps. Dive deep to design solution architectures –including white-boarding and collaborating with engineers; and communicating and collaborating with product owners and business teams Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related scientific, technical or business discipline Experience with E-Commerce projects, specifically online payment engines and/or credit card transactions. Proven skills in modeling and documenting architectures. Demonstrated effective group facilitation skills. Ability to identify and understand complex problems/issues and develop effective solutions. Ability to work well independently and in a team environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines working across multiple teams. 10+ years’ experience in the Information Technology field, preferably in software solutions delivery role/software architecture role. Experience designing complex solutions, including software and infrastructure. Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering. Well-developed spoken and written interpersonal and communication skills Desired (not required) Skills:
Experience with Archimate or C4 Modeling. Enterprise Architecture Certifications. TOGAF, Zachman Payment processing and Payment Card Industry knowledge preferred Development skills / background – hands-on experience developing and coding web applications in modern, object-oriented languages. Infrastructure skills / background – understanding of various infrastructure components including security infrastructures, networks, virtualization, web application servers, and databases
