Corporate Engagement Officer

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, the Corporate Engagement Officer will work with a portfolio of corporate donors and prospects, focusing on cultivating, writing, soliciting, and stewarding grants and agreements to support Academy exhibits and programs in scientific research, education, regeneration, and sustainability. This role aims to strengthen the financial base of the Institutional Giving team through acquiring and retaining donors. It is a full-time position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of corporate donors in the $10,000 to $250,000+ range. Engage with donors through meetings, events, calls, and emails. Prepare proposals, reports, and budgets for prospects and donors. Collaborate on strategy development with leadership, staff, and Trustees. Ensure timely completion of reports and stewardship activities; work with staff to gather program data. Develop opportunities for donor recognition, appreciation events, and volunteering. Implement benefits for Corporate Members. Draft correspondence to donors and prospects. Maintain accurate records in Tessitura database. Serve as a content expert on Academy projects related to environmental issues and sustainability. Work with the Events team to cultivate new donors. Support fundraising events outside regular hours, including Academy Day, the Big Bang gala, and SuperNatural. Adhere to all safety regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.). At least three years of fundraising experience in a complex non-profit environment. Proven success in securing grants in the $10,000 to $250,000+ range. Proficiency with Google Workspace, Tessitura database, and spreadsheets. Experience with corporate recognition and fulfillment practices. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication, proofreading, and budget management skills. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Interest or expertise in biodiversity, sustainability, and science preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Effective interpersonal skills across all levels. Work ethic, judgment, flexibility, and a sense of humor.
