Virtual Nurse/Nursing Care Partner

Purpose & Scope: The registered Virtual Nurse/Nursing Care Partner is responsible for the indirect nursing care of their assigned patients across all levels. This role requires knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures related to nursing care. The position involves interpretive skills, frequent interactive and consultative communication, and the ability to present information effectively in written, auditory, or visual formats. The primary mode of communication is spoken, supported by written, telephone, and manual skills. The Virtual Nurse/Nursing Care Partner collaborates with healthcare team members and communicates with patients via remote technology to provide goal-directed care. Tasks include patient admission assessments, education, and discharge teaching via remote technology. Education: Bachelor's in Nursing required, or Associate's in Nursing required Experience: Two years of nursing/patient care in an acute care setting required, five years preferred Certification/Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required, or licensure in a Compact State BLS certification required ACLS or PALS cards demonstrate competence in BLS skills per American Heart Association Guidelines. If current ACLS or PALS certification is held, it satisfies the BLS requirement. No separate BLS certification needed. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Typing speed of 60+ words per minute Basic dysrhythmia knowledge preferred Proficient with EHR systems, with EPIC preferred
