Our direct client is seeking a Project Coordinator for a 12-month contract role. This position will be a hybrid remote/on-site role with the Columbia, SC location.
Job Description:
Self-motivated and highly organized, the project coordinator will be responsible for collecting and reporting corporate-wide project metrics and managing activities of small, typically lower-risk, profile projects. This position also serves as the single point of contact for PMO tools.
Working with various Information Technology and Business teams, support the coordination, communication, and reporting needs for projects. Primary functions include creating and supporting SharePoint sites, updating and maintaining SDLC, reporting, Azure DevOps support, and maintaining internal project dashboards.
The Project Coordinator supports the administrative needs of project managers, including editing and updating Project Sites and other project management tools.
This position is viewed as an apprenticeship to a Project Manager role.
Major Duties and Responsibilities (listed by importance):
Reporting and SDLC Project Tracking:
- Generate weekly, monthly, and periodic reports to track project progress, budget, risks, and other exceptions.
- Update and support PeopleSoft, SharePoint sites, and other workflow artifacts within the Project Portfolio.
Project Prioritization and Governance Support:
- Attend committee meetings, draft and publish minutes, agendas, and supporting materials for the Project Prioritization and Governance Committee and the Project Execution and Advisory Committee.
Project Management Lifecycle:
- Update and maintain templates, artifacts, and source documents supporting the PMO and SDLC methodologies.
- Update and modify SharePoint websites to ensure current templates are available for PMO staff.
Communication:
- Facilitate effective communication to bring teams together and resolve conflicts; suggest process improvements.
- Participate in external department events for knowledge sharing, such as job shadowing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of project monitoring and control techniques.
- Strong communication skills for team and management interactions.
- Customer service focus and positive influence on cross-team relationships.
- Continuous learning and skill development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project Server, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Visio.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing demands.
