Position Overview:
The Events & Operations Coordinator will coordinate and oversee assigned tasks and deliverables related to the design and execution of Advancement, Alumni, Engagement, and select University events. This role will work in collaboration with the Director of Events.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with email communications in support of Alumni Engagement and Advancement goals working in collaboration with University Marketing, copywriters, and the Advancement and Alumni Engagement teams.
- Coordinate and support special projects for stewarding donors and for helping to enhance engagement with and advocacy for the University.
- Assist with office management duties and project management to support the EVP of Advancement & Enrollment and AVP of Advancement.
- Attend University functions and professional events as a representative of University Advancement.
- Record all personal contacts and correspondence with donors/prospective donors in Virtuous Database.
- Assume other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required; degree in communications, marketing or business preferred.
Candidates Must Have:
- Experience in managing and supporting various aspects of the design and production of large-scale events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally.
- Strong and proven relationship skills, establishing and maintaining effective team relationships and working collaboratively with other professionals to enhance the creative process and advance team goals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere) preferred.
- Function as a team player yet be self-motivated and able to work well independently.
- Creative, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and pivot quickly in response to changes in priorities or requirements.
- Dependable and exercise good judgment; possess excellent process and follow-up skills; able to keep confidentiality of information.
- Available to work evenings/weekends on the rare occasions needed.
