Job Description
Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial interior projects. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure scope, pricing, and compliance with project requirements. Develop and maintain project budgets, quantity take-offs, and pricing for materials, labor, and equipment. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations when required. Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and design teams to align estimates with actual project goals and conditions. Assist in value engineering efforts, offering creative and cost-effective alternatives. Maintain historical cost data and current market trends to support pricing accuracy. Coordinate bid submissions, including assembling proposals, schedules, and qualifications packages. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Minimum 5 years of estimating experience with a general contractor, specifically in commercial interiors. Strong knowledge of Manhattan construction market, building codes, subcontractor landscape, and permitting processes. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, or similar tools). Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic. What's On Offer
